Based out of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Generac got into the generator manufacturing business in 1959. They’ve been a major force in the industry since then, setting the standard by which other generator developers measure success. They got their start making portable generators, but today their product line includes big commercial units and smaller machines designed for the home backup generator market. Currently, Generac maintains four lines of home generators for residential emergency power.
The Guardian Series of home generators is the #1 selling home generator line in the United States and Canada. It can run automatically to begin providing emergency power within 10 seconds of an outage. The Guardian Series has generators able to produce from 8kW to 60kW of power and most come standard with features like Generac’s OHVI engine, pre-wiring, TruePower Technology for sensitive electronics, and QuietTest mode.
The CorePower Series is a 7kW generator series built to provide reliable power in a very affordable price range. CorePower generators can be fueled with liquid propane or natural gas, typically come with installed ATS, and have a very compact footprint.
The Generac QuietSource Series is a ‘bridge’ system that can serve both large residential or small to medium-sized business needs. It uses an automotive-style engine and features super quiet operation. It uses an all-aluminum cabinet making it ideal for salty, coastal environments.
The EcoGen Series is one of Generac’s newest generator lines and it, as the name implies, is designed for homeowners who want to utilize the latest ‘green’ technology. EcoGen is a 6kW system that uses propane gas, operates very quietly, and produces minimal emissions.
