The GE Smartwater FXHSC whole house water filter meets NSF / ANSI Standard 42 for Material Requirements. Dimensions of the device are 10" L x 4.5" W and its Micron Rating (Nominal) is 30. GE FXHSC Sediment Water Filter is very easy to install in whole house systems. It fits GE GXWH30C Water Filter System and GE GXWH35F Water Filter System. It fits most major brands of household water filter systems for 10" x 4.5" filters including the Whirlpool WHCF-WHPLBB. It also matches Culligan, American Plumber, Pentek and many big blue whole house housings. The GE SmartWater FXHSC water filter cartridges fit in #10 big blue whole house water filter systems. Replace the GE FXHSC heavy duty sediment water filter cartridge every 3 months or when flow rate is significantly decreased. You can use the less expensive R30-BB Water Filter. The time between filter changes will also depend on your water quality. The R30-BB filter is the same pleated filter with a 30 micron rating. Use the GE SmartWater HDRING WS03X10039 O-Ring in GE Housings for GE FXHSC water filters. To lubricate your GE O-Ring, use the GE SmartWater Silicone Grease. Use the GE SmartWater WX5X3002 Wrench to unscrew GE Housings for the GE FXHSC water filters.
