DESCRIPTION
The SCG series are induced draft water only boilers with integral, self-regulating combustion air intake which allows installation without a conventional chimney and assures peak efficiency even in the most tightly insulated homes. Approved for sealed combustion (2 pipe) & power vent only (1 pipe). Available in capacities of 70,000 thru 280,000 Btu’s, The SCG series boilers operate at A.F.U.E efficiency ratings as high as 85.5%. Now available for vertical venting. The vent terminal design for sidewall venting uses a straight through design; this terminal can be extended as much as 24” from the exterior wall. The combination of straight through design and improved extension ability reduces concerns of exterior condensation and/or vent frosting. A disc type air intake terminal, for use with either vertical or sidewall venting, is included with the boiler. AL-29-4C stainless steel vent pipe is required for venting. The SCG series are energy star rated and come with circulator, T/P gauge, pressure relief valve and drain valve. Additional features include stainless steel burners, step-opening gas valve with 100% safety shutoff, electronic ignition, induced draft blower, Honeywell R8285D transformer/relay control, flame roll out switch, differential pressure switch, Honeywell L4080D high limit control and a vent connector with locking band, vent terminal and silicone sealant. Boilers are field convertible to LP gas. Supply and return connections are 1-1/4" NPT.

SCG series boilers is simple to install, and require very little service and maintenance –especially compared to higher-efficiency condensing boilers. This can save homeowners hundreds of dollars in up-front installation costs, as well as several hundred dollars a year in maintenance and tune-up’s. Factoring in installation, annual service, and fuel usage - over time the operating costs of the SCG may be well below those of condensing boilers. While low temperature radiant heat systems are becoming more popular in newer buildings, many still utilize baseboard heat, convectors, air handlers. & indirect water heaters - which generally require higher water temperatures.
