Hydro-generated ignition system

The Bosch ProTankless GWH 425 HN incorporates a revolutionary hydro-generated ignition system, allowing the water heater to operate without a standing pilot, a grid connection, or a battery. A small turbine in the water heater uses the energy from the flowing water to ignite the burner. This innovative technology is patented by Bosch. The modulating gas valve maintains a constant temperature at varying flow rates, and the average efficiency is 80%.

The Bosch engineers have proven that water can indeed make fire. The pilot is ignited by a super-concentrated spark generated by a micro-turbine. The micro-turbine is activated by a request for hot water in the house. This energy efficient technology makes the 425 HN ideal for households looking to maximize energy savings.
